NIAGARA FALLS, ON TRANSIT Public transit in Niagara Falls, Ontario is provided by the Niagara Transit Commission , who's offices are at 4320 Bridge Street, Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada, L2E 2R7 (905-356-1179 Fax: 905-356-5576). Fares: Niagara Transit requires exact fares, since Operators do not carry tickets or change. The following prices (effective January 1, 2007): High School Student Semester Passes Are $180.00, and Special fares for Brock U and Niagara College are $3.75 each way, with 30 day passes $100. Bus Routes for Visitors In the summer, from June 18 to Sept 5 Transit has a every half hour route that loops between downtown (Clifton Hill) along Lundy's Lane to Garner Rd, servicing all the hotels & motels on that street as w4ell as several campgrounds at the west end of the route. First bus leaves Lundy's Land @ Garner Rd at 9 am, with the last bus leaving at 2 am. Buses leave downtown ¼ to and ¼ after the hour frolm 5:45 am with the last bus at 2 am. During Spring & Fall (May 21 to June 17 and Sept 6 to Oct 10), the Lundy's Land Loop bus goes hourly Monday Through Thursday (leaving Lundy's Lane @Garner Rd on the half hour (from 9:30 am to 1:30 am), and leaving Clifton Hill at 10 minutes after (from 9:10 am to 2:10 am). On Friday - Sunday, the route returns to half hour service (like in the summer) There is also Falls View Loop, with 30 Minute Service, leaving Clifton Hill on the hour and half hour 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. to Marineland and Falls View. NO SERVICE on these routes beyond end of November until the next Victoria Day long weekend. ST CATHARINES TRANSIT St Catharines Transit (356-1179) has a Downtown Terminal Information / Ticket Office: 5:30 am to 10:00 pm Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 8:30 pm Saturday, and 7:30 am - 3:30 pm Sunday. You can book Paratransit service at 685-9844, and get 'Out-of-town' bus information - (905) 682-9206 Fares: St.Catharines Transit requires exact fares, since Operators do not carry tickets or change. The following prices (effective January 1, 2007, set back in 2003): Transit Passes A number of different monthly passes are offered and allow unlimited travel during the monthd. All passes are Non-Transferable; City, Student and Senior Passes require a valid Photo Identification Card issued by St. Catharines Transit (the monthly passes can be bought from a number of outlets around town). Pass prices (effective January 1, 2007, set back in 2003): All passes are available after the 15th of each month at: Downtown Transit Hub (Ticket Office), St. Catharines Transit Commission Office, 2012 First St. Louth, or at General Brock Store and Sophies at Brock University Bus Rules WELLAND TRANSIT Welland Transit provides a number of Community routes and the Welland/St. Catharines Connection (formerly Brock Run). Handi-Trans Transportation for registered individuals who are unable to use regular Welland Transit service. Your doctor must first complete a registration form. Handi-Trans Information & Bookings is 905-732-4181 Trans-Cab There are four areas in Welland where transit service is provided by Trans-Cab. It's easy and it only costs 75 cents more than a regular transit fare. The number for Trans-Cab Bookings 905-788-0646. Metro has 1100 employees, 332 buses, and 27 rails cars and carries about 94,000 people a day. The Niagara Falls area is served by the following routes:
Transit Fares & Zones Metro Transit charges fares based roughly on distance travelled, using zones. Adult One:$1.50 Two: $1.75 Three: $2.00 Four: $2.25 Child (5-11 yrs.), Senior Citizen (65 and older), Disabled* & Medicare: One: $0.65 Two: $0.75 Three: $0.85 Four: $0.95 (Verified Jan 1, 2007) On trips involving travel in more than one zone, the entire fare is paid when boarding a bus traveling toward downtown Buffalo (inbound). On trips traveling away from downtown Buffalo (outbound), only the one zone fare is paid when boarding the bus and the remainder is paid when you reach your destination. Children four years and under ride free with fare paying adult passenger (limit of three children per fare paying adult). Transfers There is an additional transfer cost, when changing buses (paid upon boarding second bus): $0.30 for adults, and $0.15 for Senior Citizen, Disabled & Medicare Tokens Tokens worth $1.50 each (ride in one zone) can be purchased from many area financial institutions and other sales outlets. When purchased in quantities of 10 or more, you pay only $1.35 per token. Metro Pass Prices One Designated Zone: Adult = $55.00, Senior Citizen, Medicare and Disabled = $27.50 All Zones: Adult = $66.00, Senior Citizen, Medicare and Disabled = $33.00 Discount Card Senior Citizens, Disabled, Medicare passengers must present approved identification - Erie/Niagara County Complimentary Card, Metro Reduced Fare Card, or Medicare Card when boarding the bus and when requested on Metro Rail to qualify for reduced fare.
